When an adult got infected with the virus, the glandular fever symptoms appear around 4 to 7 weeks while children begin a bit earlier

Glandular fever affected about 25% of the population at one time in their life. Infectious mononucleosis or glandular fever is caused by the virus Epstein-Barr. The glandular fever can stay in your body for 30 to 50 days before showing its signs. To diagnose the glandular fever, doctors only need to check for its symptoms. A patient can experience headache or exhaustion on the onset of the glandular fever combined with other mild symptoms. It is earlier for children to show glandular fever symptoms than it is for adults after they are infected with the virus. Fever coupled with lymph nodes inflammation would be the symptoms of mono which come out commonly. With glandular fever symptoms like tiredness, the patient could feel this for several weeks and even months.

After 3 months the acute glandular fever symptoms would all be gone. On the first 2 to 3 weeks after the first symptoms of glandular fever showed up, you must get a lot of rest. Before a child turns 5 years old, he or she may get the glandular fever as 50% of children this age already got it. It is quite rare for glandular fever to cause complications and children will get better in time. For patients with glandular fever and experiencing sore throat, you can just gargle salt water. You cant get any relief from glandular fever by taking antibiotics as the fever is viral and not bacterial. 50% of reported cases of glandular fever are also suffering from swollen spleen.
